Job Overview

Position Title: Facilities Maintenance Specialist
Department: Facilities Management

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of the physical workspace. This position reports directly to the Facilities and IT Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Repair Duties:

  • Conduct repairs on doors, locks, and associated hardware.
  • Address issues with fixtures, furniture, and general building maintenance as needed.
  • Replace lighting components and address electrical failures.

2. Maintenance Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the painting of exterior and interior spaces, as well as maintaining building equipment.
  • Resolve plumbing issues and maintain kitchen appliances and drainage systems.
  • Perform minor repairs and touch-ups on walls and drywall.

3. Assembly and Installation:

  • Construct, install, and rearrange office cubicles and furniture.
  • Assist in moving heavy items and furniture for office setups and meeting spaces.

4. Packaging and Shipping Support:

  • Utilize tools to cut packaging materials as required.
  • Support the packaging and shipping of inventory items.

5. Cleaning Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness in common areas, offices, restrooms, and kitchens, especially in the absence of cleaning staff.
  • Address leaks and unclog drains as necessary.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of windows and floors.

6. Support to Facilities Supervisor:

  • Assist in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues related to facility operations.

Additional tasks may be assigned as required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in facilities operations or related fields is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 35 to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Physical agility to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl as necessary for maintenance tasks.
