Job Description:

Saybrook University is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Dissertation Faculty Member to join its Mind Body Medicine Department. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert research mentoring to graduate students, leveraging your extensive experience in conducting and advising doctoral dissertation research.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional research guidance to graduate students, fostering their growth and development as researchers.
  • Collaborate with the Department Chair to develop and implement curriculum, ensuring alignment with Saybrook University's academic standards.
  • Advise graduate students on their research projects, offering constructive feedback and oversight to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Evaluate dissertation drafts, providing timely and actionable feedback to students.
  • Stay current with industry developments, incorporating innovative approaches and methodologies into your teaching and research.
  • Engage in distance learning instruction, utilizing technology to deliver high-quality educational experiences.
  • Exhibit flexibility in teaching students from diverse backgrounds, adapting your approach to meet the needs of each student.
  • Demonstrate strong computer competency, utilizing software and tools to support research and teaching.
  • Engage in collaborative activities with professional staff, faculty, and students across the University, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning, ideally in research, psychology, or integrative medicine.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and teaching graduate-level courses in leadership and management studies, with a strong track record of mentoring students on dissertations.
  • Knowledge and experience of online higher education and research/IRB administration best practices.
  • Experience with Office 365, Learning Management Systems (Canvas experience preferred), and other software for research, IRB administration, and online teaching.
  • Clear communication and superior collaboration skills.
