Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Mentoring: Provide instruction and guidance to students in the Fire Science program, ensuring they meet the course objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Lab Instruction: Assist in the supervision and instruction of students in the Fire Science lab, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain regular communication and coordination with course instructors, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students.
  • Student Progress Monitoring: Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback and guidance to students as needed.
  • Lab Safety and Maintenance: Ensure the Fire Science lab is maintained in a safe and clean condition, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least 3 years of experience in Fire Science or a related field.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Texas Commission on Fire Protection Level I Instructor or Fire Education Specialist Level I, or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) in Fire Service Instructor 1 or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching Experience: Previous experience in teaching or instructing in a Fire Science or related field.
  • Firefighting Experience: Three years of experience as a firefighter with a 911 service provider.
