Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Team Lead to join our team, responsible for overseeing departmental operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring accurate completion of registration and reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the on-site clinical coordinator, providing guidance and direction to the care team.
  • Oversee clinical workflow to ensure quality of care delivered and patient satisfaction is optimal.
  • Resolve minor patient scheduling, insurance, and satisfaction complaints and escalate as necessary.
  • Complete quality review and monitor for process improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in educational endeavors of the department and serve as a clinical super user for EMR.
  • Maintain knowledge base of processes and systems by attending update meetings and review training.
  • Interact with all staff levels to ensure resolution of issues.
  • Monitor assigned reports for data integrity and research and correct accounts as required.
  • Participate in preparation and presentation of department staff meetings, education, and in-services.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all Patient Access customers.
  • Cross-train to perform patient access tasks, including taking messages and assisting providers with return phone calls.
  • Provide direct patient care within scope of certification/license as required.
  • Support HR processes, including coaching and mentoring of staff.
  • Participate in appropriate roles in disasters, fire drills, fires, and other emergency situations.

Requirements:

  • Five (5) years of clinical experience is required.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain good communications and establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, physicians, patients, families, and the public.
  • Working knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding and insurance procedures.
  • Ability to work primarily a pre-determined schedule but occasional requirements to work evenings or weekends depending on patient care needs may exist.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; and Graduate of an accredited School of Vocational Nursing Program or Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or Eligible for certification by either the American Medical Technologist (AMT) or the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) required.
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) within 12 months of hire, or Current State of Texas license/permit to practice vocational Nursing (LVN) and Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification or within 30 days of hire.

Working Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding and insurance procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain good communications with employees, physicians, patients, families, and the public.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships with employees, physicians, patients, families, and the public.
