Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team at Bentwater Yacht & Country Club. As a Line Cook, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality food is prepared and presented to our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pull tickets, call when to fire food items, and organize food so that food on the same ticket is completed at the same time.
  • Produce correct amount of mise en place for daily use, using recipe cards and production sheets to minimize waste.
  • Properly assemble all tools and utensils needed to accomplish job duties.
  • Exhibit ability to prioritize work and ensure immediate needs are met, understanding and showing commitment to teamwork.
  • Understand and follow sanitation practices, properly cooling and storing all foods, and keeping station and coolers clean and neat during shift.
  • Prepare items as assigned on daily production board, ensuring all items are wrapped, dated, labeled, and stored in proper fashion.
  • Set up station as per AM/PM set up chart, making plate drawings of daily specials and keeping on record.
  • Carefully follow standard recipes when pre-preparing and preparing all items, assisting with preparation of other food products on serving line as needed.
  • Have complete knowledge of all items on menu and daily specials, how to cook, plate presentations, and portion size.
  • Prepare daily soups of the day, notifying Master Chef or Sous Chef of expected product shortages.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; schooling or professional training preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, with ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
