Internship Overview:
This internship program is tailored for students eager to gain comprehensive insights into the operational aspects of corporate accounting and risk management.
Interns will engage in meaningful tasks within our accounting and risk departments, acquiring valuable knowledge about the banking sector, corporate finance, financial reporting, and internal compliance.
Interns will work on-site at our headquarters, which serves as the central hub for our accounting, finance, risk, and audit operations. Throughout the internship, participants will have the chance to collaborate with professionals from various teams, including accounting, finance, risk, and audit, as well as interact with bank leadership.
Objective:
This program aims to provide driven college students with the opportunity to learn and contribute within the accounting domain of a thriving commercial bank.
This internship is specifically designed for students committed to pursuing a career in banking within Central Illinois post-graduation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document financial transactions across diverse banking sectors.
- Manage payment processing and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct daily and month-end reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end financial reports.
- Support internal control and risk assessment reviews.
- Contribute to various related projects.
- Participate in accounting and finance meetings and discussions.
Qualifications:
- College students who have completed their sophomore or junior year, with an expected graduation date in the near future.
- Majoring in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Detail-oriented and confident in a professional office setting.
- Trustworthy in handling confidential information.
- Interest in residing and working in Central Illinois after graduation.
Program Details:
- Summer internship lasting approximately 10 weeks.
- Potential for part-time work during the subsequent academic year.
Compensation:
This is a paid internship offering $20.00 per hour for a 40-hour work week.
