Jefferson Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Facilities Specialist to join our team in a full-time capacity. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the physical infrastructure and related equipment of the Hospital are maintained in optimal condition. Responsibilities include minor electrical and carpentry tasks, mechanical repairs, material deliveries, and various maintenance duties. Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Assisting in the replacement, installation, repair, and testing of electrical circuits, equipment, appliances, and lighting systems as necessary.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance on all hospital structures while adhering to building safety regulations, including facility equipment and control systems.
  • Recommending improvements in working conditions and equipment usage to enhance work crew efficiency.
  • Identifying and resolving work-related issues or providing assistance in problem-solving.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of fire alarm and signaling systems.
  • Interpreting blueprints, following instructions, and preparing specifications.
  • Ensuring all electrical outlets in pediatric care areas are properly covered.
  • Performing manual tasks as needed, such as moving supplies or furniture, changing light bulbs, and disposing of waste materials.
  • Keeping accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs conducted on any equipment or systems.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: Two years of college or completion of a technical trade program.
  • Preferred: Plumbing and/or Boiler Operators License, Refrigeration, HVAC systems, or Journeyman level Carpenter certification.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements, including state and federal regulations, and maintenance of necessary credentials (CPR).

Schedule: 1.0 FTE; 40 hours/week; Variable days and shifts.
