Job Overview

Northbound Search is representing a distinguished asset management firm in their search for a Senior Valuation Analyst. This pivotal role will oversee the valuation processes for their private investment vehicles. The selected candidate will be accountable for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting and delivering comprehensive valuation assessments, which encompass an analysis of transaction frameworks, market intelligence, adopted methodologies, and necessary regulatory, risk, or accounting considerations.
  • Executing valuation procedures adhering to best practices in valuation methodologies, in line with ASC 820 Fair Value; ensuring model suitability and independently modeling transactions as required.
  • Collaborating with the trading desk to evaluate quotes from brokers and pricing services, while monitoring the validity of the received quotes.
  • Engaging with asset managers to review valuations and gain insights into valuation fluctuations.
  • Supporting ongoing portfolio analysis by tracking significant asset events, reviewing valuation models, key assumptions, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Identifying and monitoring relevant model inputs and KPIs to facilitate performance reporting and strategic decision-making.
  • Reviewing credit agreements, structuring transactions, and assessing associated risks.
  • Coordinating with external valuation providers and auditors during their periodic reviews of investment portfolios.
  • Working alongside tax, investor relations, valuation committees, fund accounting, operations, and risk management teams on reporting, reconciliations, and investment structuring.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • CFA designation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is required.
  • Experience in constructing or reviewing valuation models and/or financial models, including DCF, comparable company analyses, forecasts, and other relevant models.
  • Familiarity with private equity credit, structured products, or private equity is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to connect, collaborate, and communicate effectively across various levels of valuation expertise and organizational hierarchy.
