Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
  • Assist service members in creating personalized spending plans for extended absences.
  • Develop and disseminate informative financial materials to service members and families.
  • Coordinate and deliver a wide range of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops, covering topics such as financial planning, budgeting, and credit management.
  • Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication tools to provide support to service members and their families.
  • Manage duty to warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations.
  • Participate in regular in-services, training, and quality improvement committees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 1 investigation.
  • Hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
