Job Title: Outpatient Surgery Coder

Job Summary:

Baptist Health is seeking a skilled Outpatient Surgery Coder to contribute to the quality of inpatient coding and its continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function in a fully accountable role with respect to ensuring the overall quality of inpatient coding.
  • Constantly improve inpatient coding processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient coding practices.
  • Develop and maintain coding standards and guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest coding regulations and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an Accredited RHIA or RHIT Program with an associate or bachelor's degree.
  • Or, possess an AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist credential with 2 years of inpatient coding experience.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
