Job Title: Health Aide

Job Summary:

The Health Aide plays a vital role in the medical office team, providing clinical and clerical support under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel and primary care providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical services to patients.
  • Ensure a warm and welcoming experience for patients, including greeting and escorting them to examination rooms.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by arranging instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Verify patient information, review medical history, and confirm the purpose of visits or treatments.
  • Support healthcare providers during examinations, prepare laboratory specimens, and perform basic laboratory tests.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient examinations, treatments, and test results.
  • Initiate referrals to other healthcare sources as necessary.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, secure, and aseptic environment for patients and employees.
  • Assist in inventory management and purchasing of medical supplies.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system for correspondence, patient records, and inventory.
  • Provide translation services for nurses and primary care providers.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a medical office or related field preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to use personal transportation for work purposes.

Working Conditions:

The Health Aide will work in a busy, open office area with frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
