Job Role:

PRN Nurse Aide/Medication Aide - Norfolk Veterans Home (Evergreen)

Job Summary:

Compensation of $23.142/hour (including:
$3.00/hour differential) plus shift differentials ranging from $1 to $1.75/hr.

PRN Commitment:
A minimum of 32 hours per month, with at least 16 hours required on weekends.

Deliver exceptional care to enhance the quality of life for residents. Uphold the dignity and confidentiality of all individuals. Execute routine nursing responsibilities in the general care of elderly residents in the Veterans Home. Administer and document oral and topical medications and treatments. Occasionally assist in transporting residents to activities or medical appointments.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old, have completed a state-approved 76-hour nurse aide training program and competency evaluation, and be registered on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry.

Additional Requirements:
A pre-employment background check and drug screening are mandatory.

New hires must successfully complete the Medication Aide course and register on the Medication Aide registry within their first year of employment.

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and push/pull up to 75 lbs. regularly.

Capability to frequently bend and twist, and to stand or walk for up to 90% of the shift.

Ability to engage positively with residents and adapt to the evolving demands of the role.
