Position: Evening News Anchor and Investigative Journalist
Role Summary:
ABC57 in South Bend, Indiana, is on the lookout for a skilled Evening News Anchor and Investigative Journalist. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and adaptable communicator with outstanding skills in anchoring, reporting, and writing across multiple platforms. A strong enthusiasm for investigative journalism and a knack for breaking news coverage, both in the studio and on location, are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anchor late newscasts and provide coverage for other broadcasts as required.
- Develop both long-term and short-term investigative news projects, contributing thorough research and analysis on significant breaking news events.
- Investigate and report on current events within the local community, as well as state, national, and international matters.
- Establish and nurture sources to generate exclusive news content and reports.
- Assess news leads and tips to formulate story ideas.
- Contribute to our website and social media platforms as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of anchoring experience and a degree in Journalism or a related field are required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong judgment in news anchoring.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for investigative journalism.
- Capability to engage audiences across all platforms.
- Strong skills in enterprise reporting.
- A genuine passion for covering local news.
- Excellence in live reporting, field anchoring, and special project development.
