Wood Rodgers, a prominent engineering consulting firm in California, is seeking a Senior Surveyor to enhance our Survey Department. This full-time position will be responsible for managing survey projects and overseeing associated budgets. The ideal candidate will be a licensed professional land surveyor in California with substantial management and surveying experience.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and execute survey projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and billing.
- Engage in business development to secure new survey opportunities.
- Lead and motivate survey technicians and teams to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
- Plan and coordinate the activities of field survey teams conducting boundary, topographic, and design surveys, as well as construction staking.
- Manage workload, staffing, and quality assurance for all survey initiatives.
- Develop and mentor junior staff members.
- Handle project management tasks, including budget, scope, and timeline management for various land survey projects.
- Coordinate survey activities with other departments in an integrated service framework.
- Over 10 years of experience in the field of Land Surveying.
- Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- California Professional Land Surveyor license is required.
- Extensive knowledge of all facets of Land Surveying, particularly technical aspects.
- Strong proficiency in office software (e.g., Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with local subdivision and zoning regulations.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including styles, codes, feature lines, and surfaces.
- Excellent skills in Trimble Business Center for processing conventional and GPS data.
- Ability to lead and supervise construction layout services effectively.
- Willingness to work in the field as necessary and adept at leading a crew or resolving technical challenges.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
