Special Education Teacher

Henry County Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Exceptional Student Education Teacher to join our team at McDonough Middle School.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced teacher to provide exceptional education to students with Autism in grades 6-8. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and individual learning plans (ILPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and ILPs for students with Autism.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related services staff to provide special education services.
- Work with parents and guardians to ensure student progress and success.
- Compile and maintain accurate paperwork and records.
- Utilize research-based practices to deliver specialized instruction and develop data-driven behavior management strategies.
- Assess student progress and report to parents and guardians.
- Adhere to district and federal regulations regarding special education.
- Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work well with students, parents, and staff.
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, and strong professional reputation.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and parents.
- Must be able to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform routine physical activities.
