Position Overview

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. Must have no criminal record or pending charges
  3. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with liability insurance

  6. Must have a clear TB test and physical examination prior to the first day of employment
  7. Must have a high school diploma or GED
  8. Must have completed 60 credit hours of college coursework in social services or have one year of experience in the field
  9. Must be skilled in data entry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Possession of an associate's degree in social services or a related discipline
  2. Enrollment in a program leading to a bachelor's degree in social services or a related field
  3. Bilingual abilities or willingness to learn English and Spanish
  4. Local residency in the surrounding community
  5. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of underserved populations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Engage in outreach and recruitment activities to educate families about the Head Start/Early Head Start Program and its requirements.
  2. Recruit and enroll a minimum of 50 children annually for the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
  3. Complete enrollment applications for the Head Start/Early Head Start program, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  4. Input all family services and classroom data for assigned families into the web-based child tracking software (ChildPlus) on a weekly basis.
  5. Maintain thorough documentation of services provided, referrals made, family goal achievements, and follow-up actions.
  6. Conduct home visits to create strength-based assessments, Family Partnership Agreements, and Individualized Family Plans for each family on your caseload, providing timely follow-up.
  7. Assist families in accessing community health resources to meet children's health requirements.
  8. Complete necessary health referrals and document follow-up actions in a timely manner.
  9. Facilitate parental involvement by addressing barriers to attendance at monthly Parent Committee and Policy Council Meetings.
  10. Refer families to community agencies based on their needs and ensure timely follow-up.
  11. Establish and maintain current community partnerships to help families access crisis/emergency resources and services (e.g., food, clothing, shelter, counseling, job training).
  12. Communicate with parents of assigned classes at least once a week.
  13. Conduct home visits (virtual if necessary) to address attendance, documentation requirements, or other service delivery needs, preparing and submitting weekly schedules and monthly reports promptly.
  14. Participate in staff training through pre-service and in-service workshops as required.
  15. Support Head Start families in enhancing their children's health and academic success.
  16. Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor related to program operations.
  17. Be available to work on weekends, holidays, and/or evenings for special projects or tasks as requested by the Executive/Head Start Director.
