Cannon Crew Specialist

Job Summary
As a Cannon Crewmember in the Army National Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the U.S. maintains its battlefield superiority. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-tech cannon artillery weapons systems, as well as participating in reconnaissance operations and transporting and managing artillery ammunition.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct wire and radio communications to coordinate with other units
• Identify target locations and set up artillery systems for firing
• Use computers to generate fire direction data and operate heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles
• Maintain operational readiness of vehicles and equipment, and participate in reconnaissance operations
Requirements
• Physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure
• Ability to make quick decisions and work as a team member
• Familiarity with technology and strategic thinking skills
Training and Development
You will receive 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you will learn basic Soldiering skills, and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which will include classroom and field training under simulated combat conditions. You will also have the opportunity to earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance while learning these valuable job skills.
