Job Summary

As a Cannon Crewmember in the Army National Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the U.S. maintains its battlefield superiority. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining high-tech cannon artillery weapons systems, as well as participating in reconnaissance operations and transporting and managing artillery ammunition.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct wire and radio communications to coordinate with other units

• Identify target locations and provide fire direction data

• Set, load, and fire artillery systems to engage enemy targets

• Operate heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles to transport equipment and personnel

• Maintain operational readiness of vehicles and equipment, including performing routine maintenance and repairs

Requirements

• Physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure

• Ability to make quick decisions and work effectively in a team environment

• Familiarity with technology and ability to learn new systems quickly

Training and Development

You will receive comprehensive training in artillery operations, including 10 weeks of Basic Training and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. This training will prepare you for a career as a Cannon Crewmember and provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role.
