Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to enhance our estimating operations. This role is crucial in our pre-bid activities, which include attending meetings, conducting site assessments, and finalizing bid submissions. The Estimator will act as the main liaison for clients during the bidding phase, ensuring that all estimates are accurate and aligned with project requirements.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Engage in pre-bid project discussions and perform thorough site evaluations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a clear understanding of their project needs.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of project specifications to identify critical variables such as timelines, safety considerations, penalty clauses, and other potential risks.
  • Manage the pre-qualification and submission processes for bids.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budget constraints.
  • Create detailed estimates encompassing labor, materials, and equipment costs, utilizing preferred estimating software.
  • Guarantee that all bid documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted punctually.
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather insights post-project to enhance future estimating accuracy.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on effective estimating methodologies.
  • Maintain professional standards in accordance with the company's code of conduct during all interactions with clients and team members.
Requirements:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in construction estimation.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on construction experience, with a solid understanding of civil construction techniques and practices.
  • Proficiency in HCSS or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Physical capability to conduct site visits and pre-bid evaluations.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
