Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital seeks a seasoned Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding specialist to join our team in Milwaukee, WI. As a key member of our ambulatory healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient diagnoses that fall under Medicare Advantage plans and risk-adjusted guidelines.

Ambitious salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and accurately code diagnoses using HCC principles for Medicare Advantage plans and risk-adjusted guidelines.
  • Maintain high productivity standards while meeting an average of three medical charts per hour with a 95% overall accuracy rate.
  • Collaborate with providers to educate them on coding best practices and ensure effective communication.
  • Participate in departmental quality initiatives and adhere to all coding quality guidelines.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HCC coding, preferably at an academic facility.
  • Associates degree in Nursing or HIM, Coding Program Certificate Completion, or equivalent evidence of HCC coding training.
  • Active Registered Nurse License in the state of Wisconsin or Multi-state Nursing License from participating states in the NLC.
