Position Overview: Oversee and direct all engineering and administrative protocols at a project level. Collaborate with field operations to ensure effective communication of information.

Reporting Structure: Reports to Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Project Executive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire a thorough understanding of contract documents, including agreements, plans, specifications, and relevant codes.
  • Lead and mentor the engineering team, providing feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Uphold safety, ethical standards, and compliance regulations consistently.
  • Facilitate communication among all project stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain effective procedures for information flow with design professionals, consultants, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with Preconstruction, Estimating, and Purchasing teams to develop the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) or initial project budget.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of construction documents, ensuring quality assurance and constructability.
  • Assist in the preparation of studies, material recommendations, and cost estimates.
  • Compile a detailed list of contract items essential for project construction and develop scope of work documents for bidding.
  • Create a procurement timeline for subcontractors and major purchases to align with the construction schedule.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the project, ensuring accurate reporting and status updates.
  • Organize and document all project meetings, including owner-architect and coordination sessions.
  • Oversee the change order process, including reviewing estimates, negotiating terms, and securing necessary approvals.
  • Manage project close-out procedures, including securing warranties, final payments, and documentation retention.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in accounting principles, cost control, estimating, scheduling, and engineering methodologies. Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with project management and scheduling software is advantageous. Ability to implement advanced technologies such as Building Information Models (BIM) and Lean methodologies. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Physical Requirements: The role requires the ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders, and may involve lifting up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: The position is primarily on-site at construction locations, exposing the employee to various environmental conditions and potential hazards.
