Position Overview

Role Summary: The Certified Respiratory Care Specialist is responsible for the setup, operation, and assessment of both routine and advanced life support apparatus utilized in diagnosing and treating respiratory conditions across a diverse patient demographic, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. This role operates under the guidance of the Director of Cardio-Respiratory Care Services and collaborates closely with the Respiratory Care Manager, Supervisor, and Clinical Coordinator. The specialist must demonstrate proficiency in delivering appropriate care tailored to the age and needs of the patients served.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma required. Completion of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program is essential. Candidates must be either Registry eligible or a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Experience: While recent graduates are welcomed, a minimum of one year of clinical experience in comprehensive Respiratory Care is preferred.
  • Licensure: A valid New York State license or permit is mandatory. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is also required.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 37.50 hours per week, primarily during night shifts, including rotating holidays and weekends.
