Job Summary

The YMCA of South Palm Beach County is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Creative Curriculum and Reggio Emilia philosophy
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised environment for preschool children
  • Communicate effectively with parents, child development director, and other staff members
  • Lead a class successfully with the assistance of an assistant
  • Plan lessons that promote readiness skills in various subject areas
  • Discipline students in accordance with the school's policy
Essential Functions
  • Notify the child development director in the event of absence
  • Attend organized staff meetings
  • Submit lesson plans every Friday for the week
  • Provide a parent newsletter every month
  • Participate in maintaining a clean and orderly classroom
  • Supervise and interact with children on the playground
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, associate's degree from an accredited college or university, or CDA
  • 40-hour HRS course required within 3 months of employment
  • 10 in-service hours per year of continuing education courses
