Job Summary:

This role is responsible for performing general labor duties in the Process Cheese Department at the Kraft Heinz Springfield Plant. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, follow instructions, and maintain a clean and safe work area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Salvage product from toting stations as directed.
  • Maintain housekeeping and Kraft quality standards in the work area.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Line Lead or Shift Lead.
  • Train new or inexperienced associates.
  • Complete recordkeeping as required on manual, computer, and other systems.
  • Provide break relief as needed and directed.
  • Perform and document required Period Cleaning in the area.
  • Communicate closely with the Filling Room.
  • Report and/or correct unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Responsible for all trucking and related computer requirements and proper maintenance of the fork truck and battery.
  • Set up equipment as assigned in accordance with proper procedure.
  • Visually inspect the flow of production and clear jam-ups as they occur.
  • Perform necessary quality checks as assigned.
  • Inform the supervisor or line tech of any machine malfunction or irregularities.
  • Comply with all company policies and general safety rules while performing job duties.

Requirements:

  • Basic math, reading, and communication skills.
  • Able to acquire a fork truck license.
  • Physical ability to perform bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, and reaching to both ground level and overhead; lift, carry, push, pull, and move up to 100 pounds; hold and grip objects; possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment; and disassemble and reassemble equipment.
