Position Summary:

This is a full-time, hands-on role that involves various physically demanding tasks on construction sites, regardless of weather conditions. Responsibilities may include operating a variety of hand and power tools, preparing sites, and performing dirt-work and fine grading on subgrades. The Concrete Construction Specialist will also support other skilled workers as needed and will gain expertise through practical, on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clean job sites by removing debris to minimize hazards, ensuring safety by clearing nails from lumber, and organizing materials after disassembly.
  • Organize forms, materials, and equipment, including work trucks and laydown yards on job sites.
  • Inspect and maintain tools and machinery to ensure they are functioning properly, and manage supplies on work vehicles, such as fuel and water.
  • Perform lubrication and cleaning of machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist in the installation and tying of rebar and wire mesh, including capping rebar.
  • Efficiently grade dirt and concrete using picks, shovels, and rakes.
  • Construct and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, and other temporary structures.
  • Help in the assembly and positioning of forms for concrete pouring and take down forms after use.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks.
  • Report any unsafe practices or hazards encountered on the job to the Foreman or Lead Foreman.
  • Support other tasks as assigned.

Compensation: $18-$22/hr based on experience.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 0-6 months of experience in a related role or industry.
