Construction Craftsman

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Carpenter to join our team at the Chimney Hollow Reservoir project in Loveland, CO.

Ranked by Engineering News-Record as one of the nation's Top 400 civil contractors, we specialize in dam construction and rehabilitation, power transmission and distribution, tunneling, inland marine, oil, gas, utility, and sewer and water pipeline projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Studying specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
• Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws
• Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
• Verifying trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level
• Assembling cut and shaped materials and fastening them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue
• Operating various tools and equipment, including carpenter's hand tools, small/medium/large power tools, bench tools, concrete saw, chipper, and sander

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Be able to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds
• Be able to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb, or crawl
• Be able to correctly rig and hoist material
• Be able to tolerate heights without fear
• Be able to maintain balance
• Be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items, and work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet)
• Be able to work long, irregular, and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per week
• Be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
