Collegiate Assistant Professor in Meteorology Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Collegiate Assistant Professor in Meteorology to join our team at Virginia Tech. As a Collegiate Assistant Professor, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in meteorology, developing and implementing curriculum, and contributing to the department's research and service activities.
Responsibilities:- Teach undergraduate courses in meteorology, including weather analysis and forecasting, and other related topics.
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of our students and the department.
- Contribute to the department's research and service activities, including participating in departmental committees and working with colleagues to develop new research initiatives.
- Serve as a mentor and advisor to students, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their academic and professional goals.
- Ph.D. in Geography, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability and interest in teaching and developing courses in meteorology.
- Strong focus on students and knowledge of practices and procedures that impact student success.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles outlined in Virginia Tech's Principles of Community.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the university level.
- Demonstrated record of teaching or mentoring experience in inclusive pedagogy practices that address the needs of underrepresented and/or underserved communities.
