Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Patient Care Manager (APCM) will oversee daily operations, ensuring quality patient-centered care while adhering to financial guidelines. Responsibilities include:
- Quality Assurance: Conduct daily audits and manage MDI boards to promote continuous improvement.
- Team Leadership: Facilitate daily staff huddles and support the Patient Care Manager (PCM) in maintaining unit operations.
- Human Resource Management: Participate in staff recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor departmental budgets and optimize resource utilization.
- Patient Safety: Track and report sentinel events, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work alongside other service lines to enhance operational efficiency.
- Project Management: Identify necessary resources and establish timelines for departmental initiatives.
- Staff Development: Facilitate educational opportunities and competency assessments for team members.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree from an accredited nursing program, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
- A current RN license in Illinois.
- A minimum of two years of nursing experience, including one year in a clinical setting relevant to this role.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, preferably in a charge nurse capacity.
- Excellent communication skills to foster collaboration among staff and other healthcare professionals.
Position Details
This is a full-time position with a focus on operational excellence within the Pediatric Neurology unit.
