Key Responsibilities
The Human Resources Consultant is responsible for developing Affirmative Action Plans and related documentation for a diverse range of employers. This role involves providing expert consulting on Affirmative Action, including audit support as necessary. The consultant serves as a resource on Affirmative Action principles and regulations and facilitates various training courses.
- Develops multiple client contracts to create Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1 reports, VETS-4212 reports, and other government-required documentation, ensuring adherence to profitability and quality standards while maintaining a strong customer service focus.
- Onboards new clients by explaining data and compliance requirements, as well as the AAP development process.
- Offers expert guidance on Affirmative Action concepts, compliance requirements, and AAP results through effective communication and plan review meetings.
- Prepares audit Affirmative Action Plans with oversight from senior consultants.
- Builds lasting client relationships by providing tailored HR solutions that align with business needs and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Conducts peer reviews of completed Affirmative Action Plans to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
- Mentors Associate HR Consultants on project assignments.
- Facilitates training sessions on balanceAAP software and the fundamentals of Affirmative Action Planning.
- Leads or participates in large consulting projects involving multiple plans.
- Contributes to industry knowledge by writing blogs and co-hosting webinars.
- Attends meetings for industry-related organizations to stay informed on best practices.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and communicates relevant changes to clients.
- Documents work progress and relevant information using internal management tools.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of affirmative action principles and regulations.
- Familiarity with balanceAAP or similar AAP software is preferred.
- Knowledge of human resources concepts and employment laws.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective facilitation and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform statistical calculations and research various information.
Preferred Experience
- 5 years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years focused on affirmative action.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is required, with relevant work experience considered in lieu of education.
Preferred Certifications
HR certification is preferred.
Compensation
Salary range: $76,500 - $85,000 annually.
