Job Title: Steward/Dishwasher

Location: Charlottesville Hotel

About the Job:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward/Dishwasher to join our team at the Omni Charlottesville Hotel. As a Steward/Dishwasher, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our kitchen and dining areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitize all dishes, pots, and serving containers
  • Maintain a clean and safe work station
  • Clean and sanitize floors, work surfaces, and kitchen/serving equipment
  • Learn and perform basic cooking skills/techniques for the kitchen
  • Ensure compliance with outlined safety procedures
  • Maintain temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards
  • Keep dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
  • Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces
  • Remove trash and place it in designated containers
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Help load and unload supplies and product

Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly lift boxes up to 50 lbs
  • Comprehension and execution of correct set up and use of all dishwashing equipment
  • Understanding and execution of food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Standing, stooping, kneeling, walking, wiping, reaching, bending, and lifting are required actions throughout a shift
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities during the shift
  • Ability to perform duties that require standing for long periods of time and fast movement
