Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Psychiatrist for Autism Services to join our team at Hospital for Special Care. As a key member of our Autism Leadership Team, you will provide clinical oversight and expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all Autism programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient and/or family treatment as indicated.
  • Participate in family conferences of referred patients as clinically indicated.
  • Provide on-call services in collaboration with department providers.
  • Coordinate team meetings for care of patients in the program.
  • Provide clinically pertinent education to appropriate staff, graduate students, residents, and/or fellows.
  • Continually identify and pursue opportunities for process improvement in patient care that supports HFSC's culture of high reliability in conjunction with Chief of Psychiatry.
  • Interact with medical staff physicians both informally and as a member of the Medical Staff Committee, attending meetings as required.
  • Promote and advocate effectively for autism services in the community.
  • Continues education in areas pertinent to hospital mission, as documented in credentials file.
  • Remain in good standing with charting, billing, and mandatory training.
Requirements
  • Board certified by the ABPN in Psychology.
  • Licensed by the State of Connecticut.
  • Current Affiliate Member of Hospital for Special Care Medical Staff.
  • Preferred: 3 or more years' experience managing autism services.
  • Competence in managing necessary services for all the psychiatric/psychological needs of autism patients.
