About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Support Specialist (BHT Float) to join our multidisciplinary team. As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care for patients under court-ordered evaluation or treatment due to mental illness. Working collaboratively with our team of nurses, behavioral health technicians, mental health workers, health unit coordinators, psychiatric and medical providers, social workers, chaplains, and recreational therapists fosters a healthy, cooperative environment that promotes patient well-being and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Support Specialist (BHT), your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Providing personal care to patients with complex psychiatric and physical conditions
2. Assisting patients in planning their day, including orienting them to the schedule, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed, taking vital signs, and facilitating groups
3. Observing patient behavior, frequent rounding, and documenting the Electronic Medical Record to ensure accurate patient information and enhance overall care delivery
4. Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to create a safe therapeutic environment, promoting positive outcomes for patients
Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Possess a bachelor's degree in a field related to Behavioral Health or any other bachelor's degree with one year of full-time behavioral health work experience
2. Demonstrate at least one year of behavioral health experience, including direct services such as counseling, monitoring, conducting recreational activities, transporting, etc., to individuals with mental disorders, personality disorders, or substance use problems gained in a behavioral health, medical, educational, or correctional work environment
3. Complete Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training
4. Obtain a BLS card through an approved American Heart Association training center within 3 months
5. Meet the age requirement of being at least 21 years old or at least 18 years old and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32, providing services within the personnel member's scope of practice
6. Possess basic computer word processing skills to navigate electronic medical records successfully
7. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English
Salary Information
This Mental Health Support Specialist (BHT) position offers an hourly pay rate of $24.00.
