Instructor or Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor of Nursing

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a Nursing Educator at Penn State University. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals.
Job SummaryThe Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing is seeking a non-tenure line teaching position in the undergraduate program at our University Park location. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching medical-surgical nursing courses, including both classroom and clinical teaching. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include advising students, participating in committees, and other service and scholarly activities as appropriate.
Responsibilities- Teach medical-surgical nursing courses, including classroom and clinical instruction
- Advise students and provide guidance on academic and professional development
- Participate in committees and other service activities as assigned
- Engage in scholarly activities and contribute to the development of the nursing program
The successful candidate must have at least one graduate degree in nursing. Those prepared at the doctorate level (e.g., DNP, PhD) will be given preference and hired at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or higher depending on the credentials of the successful candidate. Successful candidates who have a master's degree in Nursing will be hired as Instructor. The successful candidate must hold a valid nursing license; be eligible for RN licensure in Pennsylvania, and show evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and mastery of subject matter.
