Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality solutions to address deviant hardware and design support for compressor airfoils and rotors
  • Conceive innovative ideas to solve compressor airfoils and rotors manufacturing and design problems
  • Leverage hand calculations, CAD, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models for analysis supporting dispositions to deviant hardware, redesign efforts, and drawing revisions
  • Conduct technical reviews for design tasks with Controlled Title Holders (CTHs)
  • Evaluate and mitigate component, assembly, and/or system level risks
  • Execute standard work and design templates for common issues encountered for specific components/assemblies
  • Identify creative ways to improve and create our processes, design methods, and manufacturing methods
  • Maintain strong relationships with supply chain teams
  • Drive technical rigor and integrity in all aspects of design and post-design work
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Global Supply Chain, Quality, GTE NPI Design, MPE, PDE, Controlled Title Holders, Systems, Performance, Repair, Heat Transfer, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college and 4-7 years of related experience; or High School Diploma and 8-11 years of related experience
  • Ability to handle US-export controlled information
  • Relevant experience designing gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery
  • Proficient with Ansys, NX, and other analytical tools
  • Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings & BoMs
  • Strong organizational & communication skills
  • Demonstrated capability in collaborating in a cross-functional global organization
  • Humble, open-minded, self-motivated, and a continuous learner
  • Ability to rapidly shift day-to-day priorities based on emerging business needs
