Job Opportunity

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Water/Wastewater Process Engineer Lead to join a multidisciplinary engineering firm in Greenville, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process design, leadership experience, and a passion for delivering sustainable water and wastewater treatment solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and optimization of water and wastewater treatment processes, including biological, chemical, and physical treatment methods.

  • Provide technical direction to a team of process engineers, ensuring project deliverables meet high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

  • Oversee the preparation of process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and process design calculations.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage the process engineering scope for multiple water and wastewater projects, from concept through completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality targets.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental) to integrate process engineering designs into broader project frameworks.

  • Manage client relationships, communicating progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring project objectives align with client expectations.

Process Optimization & Innovation:

  • Develop and implement process improvements that enhance treatment efficiency, reduce costs, and promote sustainability.

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements, applying innovative solutions to project designs.

  • Perform process simulations and optimizations to evaluate treatment performance, chemical usage, and energy consumption.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all process designs comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards, including discharge permits and health and safety requirements.

  • Conduct quality reviews of process engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

  • Lead risk assessments, including HAZOP studies, to identify potential process hazards and develop mitigation strategies.

Construction & Commissioning Support:

  • Provide process engineering support during construction and commissioning phases, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and troubleshooting field issues.

  • Oversee the start-up and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring that systems perform as designed and meet regulatory requirements.

Training & Mentorship:

  • Mentor and guide junior process engineers, fostering professional development and technical growth.

  • Lead training sessions for team members and clients on new process technologies, treatment systems, and best practices in water and wastewater engineering.

Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

· Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

· Experience: 8+ years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater treatment systems.

Skills:

o Deep understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, including biological treatment, filtration, disinfection, and chemical dosing systems.

o Strong proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X) and CAD tools for developing PFDs and P&IDs.

o Proven leadership and project management skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.

o Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.

 

Salary: $160,000 - $200,000

 

Depending on the specific client, location, and role, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan. Paid leave may include Paid Time Off, Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.



Pay Details: $160,000.00 to $200,000.00 per year
