Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Laboratory of Cognitive Neurobiology at Boston University School of Medicine. The successful candidate will work on projects investigating the neurobiological bases of age-related cognitive decline and recovery of function after brain injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and section post-mortem brain and spinal cord tissue from non-human primates
  • Conduct immunohistochemical, biochemical, and molecular analysis of brain and spinal cord tissue from rhesus monkeys
  • Perform or assist in routine clinical procedures, blood processing, and surgery preparation with rhesus monkeys
Requirements

A PhD in neuroscience, neurobiology, or a related scientific field is required. Experience working with animals, especially rhesus monkeys, is essential.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • In situ labeling assays (Immunohistochemistry, RNAscope)
  • Basic molecular assays (RNA isolation, qPCR)
  • Basic biochemical assays (ELISA, Western Blot)
  • Tissue culture
  • Laboratory Animal Research
