Meat Cutter Job Description at Tom Thumb

As a Meat Cutter at Tom Thumb, you will be responsible for preparing meat in salable sizes and condition for wrapping and eventual display and sale to customers. This involves cutting, trimming, chopping, grinding, and otherwise preparing meats and placing them on trays. You will also operate saws, grinders, and other meat processing machinery to ensure that the meat is properly prepared and presented to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare meat in salable sizes and condition for wrapping and eventual display and sale to customers
  • Cut, trim, chop, grind, and otherwise prepare meats and place on trays
  • Operate saws, grinders, and other meat processing machinery
  • Inspect, sort, and grade meat products
  • Inspect displayed products for expired dates and remove when necessary
