Job Overview:
The selected candidate will be responsible for integrating avionics systems, requiring a robust skill set in systems development, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. Proficiency in software languages such as Visual Basic (VB6 and newer versions) and LabView is essential for operating multi-rack testing stations. Typical testing setups will include components like switch systems, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), power supplies, and various RF or digital equipment. Additionally, the role involves the development and maintenance of Environmental Stress Screening (thermal and vibration) test apparatus and software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, code, test, integrate, and document production test software for aviation-related products.
2. Create test hardware, including fixtures, cabling, and circuit boards.
3. Develop engineering estimates for intricate tasks.
4. Capture, analyze, and create engineering requirements for complex designs.
5. Lead design reviews for test software and ensure the appropriate generation of design documentation.
6. Prepare and present technical information to peers, internal management, and clients, while mentoring junior engineers.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience. Alternatively, in the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience unless local laws/regulations dictate otherwise.
