As a Nursing Assistant at SouthCoast Health, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and group homes. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients with their daily living activities (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Help patients with mobility and transfer activities, such as walking, standing, and sitting
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the RN
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and be able to maintain patient confidentiality. You should also be able to lift, push, and pull patients as needed, and be able to stand for long periods of time.
