Position Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care tailored to individual needs. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, implementing prescribed therapies, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
  • Develop individualized care plans with measurable goals based on assessment results and patient/family input.
  • Document evaluations and treatment plans effectively, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with healthcare team members, patients, and families to coordinate care and support.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and students as needed, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Participate in program development and continuing education initiatives to enhance professional skills.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Valid CPR certification and NPI number.
  • Proven ability to conduct clinical assessments and maintain accurate documentation.

Preferred Experience
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably with pediatric patients.
  • Experience in feeding therapy is advantageous, although training will be provided.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and navigating various environments.
  • Must possess visual and auditory acuity to respond to patient needs effectively.

Work Environment
Position may involve exposure to various conditions; adherence to safety and health protocols is essential.
