Job Summary

This role provides technical support to the Project Engineer by offering guidance and expertise to project staff on infrastructure operations and maintenance. The Associate Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Engineer to ensure that work is performed in accordance with project-specific requirements and contractual performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with processes, work plans, procedures, and specifications for roadways, facilities, and tunnels.
  • Provide technical guidance for quality assurance reviews of project subcontractors and consultants.
  • Perform quality control reviews of submitted reports by project subcontractors and consultants.
  • Assist in determining the best approach to bring infrastructure assets into contract compliance.
  • Use computer-aided design software to prepare drawings and engineering documents.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with maintenance practices and asset maintenance systems.
  • Demonstrate commitment to updating job skills and technical knowledge as required.
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation.
  • Assist in developing technical training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Develop cost-saving initiatives through processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with and adherence to health and safety practices.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • EIT certification or relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
  • Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and OSHA 10-hour certification within 6-12 months of hire.

Work Environment

Work performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment and project sites as needed.
