Job Summary:

The Vice Provost for Academic Affairs is a key leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the Academic Affairs division. This role requires a seasoned academic leader with a proven track record of administrative experience, teaching, scholarship, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and vision for Academic Affairs, aligning with the university's strategic goals and priorities.
  • Collaborate with faculty, deans, and department heads to develop and implement policies and procedures that support faculty excellence and student success.
  • Oversee the tenure and promotion processes, ensuring fairness and consistency in the evaluation of faculty performance.
  • Develop and implement best practices for faculty evaluation, faculty development, and department head and dean support.
  • Advise the Provost on faculty recruitment, retention, grievances, annual evaluations, promotion, and tenure.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of best teaching practices across all course modalities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support enrollment growth and other university priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Compliance to develop, review, and revise university policies related to Academic Affairs.
  • Represent the Office of the Provost on university committees and participate in state, regional, and national meetings and organizations related to faculty success.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Two years of administrative experience as Assistant Provost or above, or five years of administrative experience as a dean or associate dean and five years of prior university teaching experience.
  • Qualifications meriting appointment at the rank of Full Professor (Tenured).
