We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Support Mentor to join our team at the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin.
This is a part-time position, requiring 10-19 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities.
The Community Support Mentor will work one-on-one with participants, providing individualized support and helping them achieve their goals. This may involve activities such as personal care, meal planning, home upkeep, money management, and technology skills.
As a Community Support Mentor, you will be an essential member of our team, working closely with participants, families, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a patient and empathetic approach. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability when needed.
Minimum qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. An associate degree or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
