Urology Physician Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Urology Physician Assistant to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with urological conditions.
Responsibilities
1. Clinical Care
Obtain comprehensive health and medical histories, perform thorough physical assessments, and review diagnostic test results to develop accurate differential diagnoses.
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including prescribing and ordering medications, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
2. Education and Training
Provide patient education and counseling on medical conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care.
Collaborate with clinicians, staff, and students to promote continuity and patient-centered care.
Develop educational materials and provide instruction to physicians, house staff, nursing, and ancillary staff.
3. Leadership and Professionalism
Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues, including precepting, shadowing, and training.
Participate in community outreach programs and develop/lead initiatives to improve healthcare delivery.
Interact with patients, families, and colleagues in a respectful, courteous, and timely manner, using effective communication skills.
4. Quality and Research
Engage in daily continuous quality improvement by identifying and implementing processes for improvement.
Consult with management to assess, problem-solve, and evaluate clinical/system issues and models of care.
Initiate and revise protocols or guidelines to reflect evidence-based changes in care management.
Requirements
Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife) in the state of North Carolina.
Board certification if required by the Department.
Work Environment
This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System.
This is not a State employed position.
