Position Overview

The Float LPN will provide essential nursing care and support in various settings, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment: Engage in evaluating patient needs through the collection and analysis of relevant data.
  • Immediate Intervention: Identify and act upon situations requiring urgent care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient observations, treatments, and responses, utilizing the nursing process effectively.
  • Care Plan Development: Assist in the creation and modification of care plans by providing necessary data and suggesting potential goals.
  • Communication: Liaise with clinical staff regarding any significant changes in patient status.
  • Implementation: Execute the established care plan under RN supervision, ensuring all tasks are completed.
  • Progress Monitoring: Stay informed about patient progress and document findings in medical records.
  • Workload Management: Organize and prioritize tasks to deliver quality patient care efficiently.
  • Competency Maintenance: Continuously enhance knowledge and skills in accordance with current nursing practices and legal guidelines.
  • Patient Education: Provide and evaluate the effectiveness of education for patients and families under RN guidance.
Physical Requirements

This role requires physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting, and bending. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds and must possess good sensory abilities, including sight and hearing. Quick responsiveness to changes in patient conditions is essential.

Qualifications

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited practical nursing program and hold a current LPN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
