Position Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for a range of tasks related to the procurement of materials, equipment, merchandise, and supplies, adhering to the established guidelines for cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. This role involves active participation in sourcing teams focused on research, bidding, and contract management for various supplies and services.

Key Responsibilities:
* Implement and facilitate electronic procurement practices to foster strategic supplier relationships. Act as the main point of contact between the organization and suppliers to ensure contract fulfillment.
* Cultivate strategic partnerships with suppliers to enhance cost reduction initiatives and manage supplier performance to ensure quality service delivery. Address any issues related to supplier performance effectively.
* Engage in sourcing teams for research, bidding, and contract management of supplies and services, serving as the primary operational resource for procurement issues within assigned departments. Provide education and guidance to departmental clients on utilizing the electronic purchasing system.
* Maintain comprehensive records of current and potential suppliers, including materials, pricing, delivery schedules, and inventory levels. Ensure accurate purchasing of all official storeroom inventories and supplies in accordance with standard procedures.
* Regularly update files related to open and closed purchase orders, packing slips, and other essential documents for reference and timely inquiry, assisting accounts payable in matching invoices to purchase orders accurately.

Additional Information:
Qualifications:

Required:
* Associate's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience in purchasing.
Preferred:
* Experience in procurement within a hospital or similar healthcare setting.
