Job Title: Family Time Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Time Coordinator to join our team at the Oregon Department of Human Services. As a Family Time Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Oregon's most vulnerable children and families.

Job Summary:

The Family Time Coordinator will be responsible for gathering and documenting information from caseworkers, children, parents, relatives, case providers, schools, and other relevant resources to plan family time visits. This will involve reviewing family time agreements and guidelines, suggesting community resources as needed, and supervising family time in an office or community setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and document information from caseworkers, children, parents, relatives, case providers, schools, and other relevant resources to plan family time visits.

  • Supervise family time in an office or community setting, documenting relevant information.
  • Transport children to family time visits and other necessary appointments.
  • Collaborate with caseworkers to assess the details of family time supervision and recommend services needed for case planning.
Requirements:
  • One year of experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs, such as family services, children services, senior services, mental or developmental disability services, substance abuse programs, juvenile corrections programs, or occupational skills programs.
  • Possession of a current certification in child development, early childhood education, addiction counseling preparation, or juvenile corrections.
  • 45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college coursework in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training.
  • An associate degree in a field not closely related to social work/human services and six months of human services-related experience.
Essential Attributes:
  • Experience conducting work that requires attention to detail, particularly when creating or reviewing documents.
  • Experience with defusing emotionally charged situations, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Experience working successfully both with a team and independently, while managing your time efficiently.
  • Experience writing clearly, concisely, and thoroughly with minimal spelling or grammar issues.
  • Experience collaborating and engaging with people who have diverse education, language, and cultural backgrounds.
