Mental Health Therapist

Kaiser Permanente is seeking highly skilled Mental Health Therapists to join our team in Washington Harbor. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a wide range of clinical psychosocial services for adult and/or child members in a primary or specialty care, mental health or home health setting.
- Evaluate psychosocial assets and deficits, provide short-term counseling, education, advocacy, advanced care planning, and resource brokering with caregiving and/or other resources to enable and/or maintain the greatest level of independence.
- Assess, triage, diagnose, treat, and/or crisis intervention services for members with mental health and addiction needs.
- Collaborate with treating primary or specialty care providers and with psychiatric, addiction medicine, and allied health professional team members to plan and direct each individual patient's treatment program.
- Confers and consults with supervisor regarding members' progress and treatment, and may consult with psychiatrist or other care team providers as well, if involved in members' care.
- Masters degree in Social Work (or Social Welfare from a clinical track), Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field required from an accredited college or university.
- Marriage and Family Therapist Associate License (Washington) OR Mental Health Counselor Associate License (Washington) OR Licensed Social Worker Associate-Independent Clinical (Washington) required.
- Prior completion of a practicum or internship in a clinical setting.
- Full licensure expected within 3-4 years of hire.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and professional board standards as is related to member treatment, patient rights, and member/patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice, person-in-environment theory and/or psychotherapy research methods.
- Knowledge of the bio-psycho-social functions that contribute to mental health.
