Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University welcomes expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Adjunct Instructors to teach courses across various disciplines in all 10 colleges and schools. Interested individuals may express their interest by submitting their credentials to any relevant posting. Listings are organized by college/school and department. The screening of candidates in the pool is ongoing, based on curricular needs and available funding. Candidates will be contacted by the department if they advance to the finalist stage for teaching specific courses. The pool will remain active until the specified closing date; those wishing to stay in the pool beyond that time must reapply. All individuals in the pool will receive email notifications when the posting is closed.

Responsibilities:

The Department of Modern Languages within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University invites expressions of interest in part-time faculty teaching opportunities. Part-time teaching opportunities are available throughout the academic year. Applicants with expertise that aligns with course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview. Academic course schedules vary from quarter to quarter, and the department will collaborate with selected individuals to establish a quarterly schedule. While courses are not guaranteed, the Department strives to provide ample notice regarding available courses and potential cancellations.

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree or equivalent international credentials, proficiency in both written and spoken target language.

The candidate must demonstrate experience in teaching within a diverse learning environment.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

The Department of Modern Languages is seeking applicants to teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of the following language courses: American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek (Ancient), Italian, Japanese, Latin, Polish, Russian, Spanish. This posting also applies to other courses taught in English, such as: Classical Mythology, Chinese Calligraphy, Modern Japanese Literature in Translation, Modern Russian Authors.
