Position Overview:
Scratchboard Kitchen is on the lookout for a dedicated Pastry Cook who possesses a keen eye for detail, a strong desire to learn, and a commitment to our mission. The ideal candidate will adeptly follow a prep list, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, communicate effectively, and execute high-quality prep work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to a prep list and follow instructions provided by the Executive Chef or Sous Chefs, ensuring the production of daily pastries and executing prep tasks for the line.
- Demonstrate the ability to closely follow recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality in all pastry creations.
- Keep a clean and organized workstation at all times.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations consistently.
- Follow recipes and uphold the food standards established by the chef.
- Receive and implement constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive and proactive attitude.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic culinary knowledge.
- A desire for continuous improvement.
- Proactive and team-oriented mindset.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly wage: $13 - $16/hour, commensurate with experience.
- Benefits include health insurance, optional vision and dental coverage, daily family meals, and dining discounts.
Physical Requirements:
- This role requires the ability to see, hear, speak, reach, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be prepared to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently during working hours, with or without reasonable accommodations.
